Correction: Glorioso Refuses To Stand Up For Plant City

An earlier posting expressed hope that Rep. Rich Glorioso might be standing up for his hometown of Plant City, which could get as many as 54 mile-long freight trains a day as a result of the CSX deal. But in casting his vote Wednesday, Glorioso proved he is a stand-and-salute follower who cares more about pleasing House leaders than about standing up for citizens and against corporate welfare. Glorioso sold out Plant City on Wednesday. The best the community can hope for is that eight years after the freight super-railway is built, DOT will look at ways to mitigate the constant disruption. There's no money behind this promise, of course, but by then, Glorioso will be long gone from office. And Plant City citizens - as well as taxpayers across the state - will be paying the price. How sad.

Is it the leaders that keep Glorioso from standing up for his constitutents and this beautiful city or is the promise of personal employment later? Is he planning to move to Tallahassee when his time is up as so many others that do the bidding of CSX?
